It's Kind of Technical

Time

TimeI always say that my time is much more valuable than my money, and I truly believe that.  I would much rather have an extra day off than an extra day’s wages.  I have often caught myself wishing that there were about 28 hours in a day rather than 24.  Maybe then I would have enough time for all of the things that I want to do.

Since my time is so valuable, then it must follow that I spend it very wisely, right?  Certainly I must do only the most important things with my waking hours, or at the very least I should do them first, right?  Well, in reflecting upon how I spend my time, I have discovered that I do not do only the most important things, and I definitely do not do the most important things first.

So what are the most important things?  This is where it gets kind of interesting.  The things that I say are the most important, are not the things that I treat as the most important.  I say that God is the most important thing in my life.  If that was true, then I would make prayer, direct communication with God, a number one priority.  Lately however, prayer has been an afterthought, something that I do while lying in bed before I fall asleep.  Prayer has become the very final action of my day, if it even happens at all.

Either God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life, or I am completely delusional (John 3:16).  It really is that simple.  The truth is, I do believe the preceding verse, but my actions lately indicate otherwise.

I guess I needed a little bit of a wake up call.  The time has come to reprioritize my life.  God is first.  No exceptions.
